    Surely one of the worlds great oil paintings .Why? just look how the light is captured by the  lanterns , the quality of the underlying drawing, painting and composition, and a strong story well told. It is a picture not of the rich and famous or the great and powerful ,but of the people  for the people, all of which, no doubt at all make it one of the worlds great masterpieces of its kind.

It is a large painting to do it justice you need to see it : on show  this year at Truo museum .Please excuse quality of the image  it lacks detail you will need to visit the museum to see it at its best.
